Each component
installation and commissioning will directly affect CNC machine processing
efficiency and accuracy. Better installation and commissioning can improve
efficiency and precision, meanwhile cost-saving of usage and maintenance.
Brief view:
Ball screw is a
mechanical linear actuator that translates rotational motion to linear motion
with little friction. Able to apply or withstand high thrust loads, can do with
minimum internal friction. They are made to close tolerances and are therefore
suitable for use in situations in which high precision is necessary.
Applications:
Used in machine
tools, robots and precision assembly equipment, high precision ball screws are
used in steppers for semiconductor manufacturing.
Operations:
1) Ball screws can operate with some preload, effectively
eliminating slop between input (rotation) and output (linear motion), this
feature is vital when used in CNC machine tools and high precision motion
applications.
2) Keep ball screw in effective stroke, avoid nut out of
ball screw shaft.
3) Ball screw axis should be parallel to supporting guide
rail axis. Center of bearing seat on two ends and center of nut seat should be
in a line of 3 points.
4) In CNC machine installation and commissioning should
pay attention to: spindle bearing installation, linear rolling guide
installation, hydraulic system, pneumatic and CNC system installation etc.
5) Lack of sliding friction between nut and screw pends
itself to extend lifespan of screw assembly reducing downtime for maintenance
and parts replacement, while also decreasing demand for lubrication.
